I charge it up and all seems fine for a few days!

Fit the new battery, start the bike and put a multimeter on it, put the lights on and rev it gently.... volts should read between 13.6 and 14.2 ish, if its lower or higher you'll probably need a new regulator rectifier, simple plug in style thing on back end of bike. you can fit a higher capacity battery but you shouldn't need to... otherwise you have something draining your battery, process of elimination with that i'm afraid, bring it up and i'll sort it for you... _________________ Keiran and grimball should be banned!!!

I had a similar problem recently. It turned out it wasn't the regulator rectifier as first diagnosed but a fused Generator coil as I had let water get in somehow. Cost me a new Generator phew! but it solved the problem. |

Three wires coming out of generator housing on bike, one is earth, next one is lighting circuit and next one ignition supply, should be putting out somewhere around 17v on the two feed wires, if no voltage your stator is kaput, mucho expense.... _________________ Keiran and grimball should be banned!!!

I tested the battery volts when the bike was running
13.5 + with revs
12.6 on idle _________________ THIRD TIME LUCKY

Did you charge the battery before you put it on? they only come with a base charge.... 13.5 should be ok with the lights on, how much with lights off? once the bike has built up the charge in the battery the voltage should go up slightly. _________________ Keiran and grimball should be banned!!!
