New drive belt for the Quadzilla 500eMy QZ needs a new drive belt & I am being told they are £150 + Vat, without labour to fit.
Does anyone have any cheaper alternatives, or does the Grizz 660 one fit???
A long shot, but worth a try...

Holy Cow !! That's expensive . The drive belt for my Kymco is about £40 for a posh kevlar one . Worth getrting a kevlar one cos it's a hell of a mess when they do snap!

Drive belts!! Grrr!Hey Ho . Just coming back from the coast some 10 miles from home today and my drive belt went ping!! No motion forward or backwards. 2nd time it's happened. So now I'm getting a Dayco kevlar drive belt ( for £31.35 exc postage ) plus a transmission casing gasket of course...
How easy are they to fit yourself?? Any tips??

Really easy, take your footwell off so you've plenty of space to work, take off the drive belt cover. Make sure your pulleys are free of any debris from your shredded belt, pull it onto one pulley, as far into the pulley as you can get it, DONT TWIST IT!!!! then work it onto the other pulley, job done, put it all back together.

Thanks for the advice Grae. Already had the side cover off and found what I think is a bird nest in there OMG!! That's the second time I've found the little b*ggers nesting in there .
I'm not taking any chances this time and have ordered a kevlar drive belt and new gaskets for a perfect watertight seal ( a good idea on Kymcos )
What's the best way to get the pulleys apart slightly without using a spring compressor ( as I haven't got one) ??

tyre lever, try not to leave marks on the pulley sheaves though.... OR put the belt onto the clutch with the vanes on first, work your way round the pulley, pushing the belt further and further into it, tight fit but it goes on... Eton's have the same clutch as yours, thats how i do them.... what size of engine do you have?

250cc. The reason I ask about pulling the rear pulley apart is that it still has a few small bits of debris wedged in there and I can't prise the pulley apart to get them out. Might have to use the wife's tweezers ( sharp in take of breath Oooo Errr

If you undo the nut on the end the whole clutch comes apart....

I've heard this can be dodgy for the amateur as the clutch spring is under pressure and can ping off rather fast. Also I dont have a pulley holder which stop the clutch turning round when you try to unscrew that nut. Any more tips Grae?

Ever heard of an air gun ! no need for fancy clutch holders etc also rear clutch is a driven clutch (ie gear box clutch) so isnt loaded. hope this helps.
