Leaving the forumHi, as most of you know we have an annoying little scroat on here at the moment, who i believe is a fake member and is just on here for the wind up.... due to this i've decided to leave the forum till hes gone.

Forum demiseFake members, the now tired lewd "gay" thing, boring repetitive posts eg:
" Gayers!" and a general lack of new genuine forum members ( those that do come on are either figments of someone's wierd imagination or genuine ones are scared off fairly quickly) seems to mean that there are probably only 4/5 genuine forum members left who regularly come on here anymore to talk amongst ourselves

to be up honest I can't work out the admin side of this forum
I'm working on redoing the whole website soon and I'm thinking a new forum to go with it!
A new forum may be better as there's actually 14 fake names on here and I keep getting bounced emails about it! As the emails are fake also

New forum will be great Ant but if we get the same ol shit on there too ie: fake pervy identities, all the "gay" shite, people converting and dominating other peoples threads with pointless repetitive posts etc.. cos it'll be a waste of time as far as I'm concerned...

I think the intent was that it was for SATVC club members and other interested quadders but that focus seems to have fallen by the wayside and replaced with the "gay" chat and pervy stuff which was a joke at the beginning but soon got pretty wearing after a little while and ended up dominating the forum content a bit too regularly for my taste.
I'm more interested in quad chat and useful stuff about quads , organising meets etc..

fair enough, if thats what they want then I agree they should have it...
only thing is, there is only you, jim and sometimes Ant that ever bothered to come on here so is a new forum really going to fill up with more members?
anyway.... I set this forum up to help Ant, I am not fussed what you do with it, you boys enjoy yourselves

I don't think Ant ever set this up to "compete" with other forums as such but more for SATVC members, quadding locals around here and other quadders to keep in touch and to promote the club (positively) which is a good thing. The more forums the better as far as I'm concerned and I'm a member of several myself.
What I think has effectively screwed this forum is some of the predominantly poofy and pervy non-quad content and fake id's that has put off a lot of potential members and many of the few existing ones as well.I don't think this was ever maliciously intended but that is what has pretty much resulted in the demise of this forum and meant that outsiders have therefore never taken it seriously .
If effective forum moderation can also be set up then I think maybe we could have a good SATVC forum back up and running once again ( and No! I am not offering...)
In the meantime I will continue to watch the posts in the other forums with interest..

It seems to me that you have made this forum so boring with your dull anti fun attitude & constant complaining about humerous posts that it is your fault that this forum has faded by the wayside. You have no right to complain about anyone elses input in to this forum when the only posts you make are to complain about others.

Firstly I need to point out that I've only ever managed to get to one meeting, so nearly all of the contact I have with the club is via the forum.
It would be nice to be able to let the younger members of my family, and the club, to read posts on the forum occasionally. Unfortunately it's just not possible with some of the current postings.
I'm the moderator for the trike section, and there are some very questionable posts but I'm left thinking what am I going to be reading next if I try to stamp any authority on it.
It's nice to have a local club that is very family friendly exept for the forum which thanks to a small minority isn't. I'm not a killjoy, micky taking is great, some 'ooeer Mrs.' fine, mild inuendo - no problem, but some of what is posted here is deplorable. Even some avatars leave a lot to be desired.
I'm a member on some U.S. sites, and they have a '3 strikes' policy. Quite simply, if you post anything objectionable and it's moderated, it's a strike. 3 times and you're suspended. Do it again and you're out. That's it. And it works.
This forum could work well if it was allowed to, but there's a lot of potential members who will look at the website, which is brilliant and draws people in, then look at the forum and be gone without a second thought.
Ah, feeling better for that. Sorry, rant over.

Is another new forum the really the way to go? It's obvious a lot of work has gone into creating this one, so for the sake of a bit of a clean-up and some tighter moderation why not continue with this one?
Just my opinion, over to you...

I think this one could still be a goer, but nearly everyone seems to have has gone elsewhere or given up.
That said, I'm all for carrying on if we can get some proper forum chat going again.
