No belts, I looked up the spec. They are some fancy torsion/fluid drive. Either 3 speed semi auto or fully automatic.

jim, go for the 2006 upwards, this is when it changed and has a bigger engine nad better spec
Big Jim

Yep, the pre 2006 ones were 650 & underpowered apparantly
James

i wonder what a un restricted gen 2 one's top speed is. will almost definatley be my next quad
Big Jim

Got to be 80mph + hasn't it!!
grae

They're ok, but if anything goes wrong with the auto transmission then you have to buy it as a complete unit! 1500 quid just for the unit, plus labour....

Ouch!

If the auto transmission packs up will it still change gear on the buttons, or is it just "tough shit"

Are they prone to transmission probs?
James

how easy is it to break the transmission?
grae

hydrostatic honda's (like this one) aren't really that clever, you have to be really strict on servicing them, they're real fussy what oil they get, I wouldn't reccomend getting one, the engine is great its just the transmission that lets it down. BUT... when they're going they're cool, you cant feel it change gear, it just goes and goes.... If the hondamatic (auto transmission) unit packs up you're up shit street, it won't do anything it just beeps and whistles at you..... Rolling Eyes
Big Jim

Hmm, point taken!!

Just thought it looked quite good, but I certainly wouldn't risk buying one with the potentional money pit that is the transmission!

Cheers Grae
James

Sad and i thought i would get a honda mate  Mad
