Disconnect and run for a while..... or leave for a few days without running it, i've known the honda dash's to drain the battery when left....

it makes no difference?????

I've tested the voltage again at the battery whilst running on tick over
and I'm getting 12.3 volts?
i did the same test on 2 kodiaks and 1 wolverine Today and all were reading 14+ volts. Is there any way a stator could be fucked but still give some charge as I'm thinking this is what the prob is?? Its the only left I'm sure? Any way of testing the stator???

You have hit the nail on the head this is a problem I have had had before with yamaha where the charging side of the stator backs up. You should source a replacement or get it reconditioned and this will sort your problem. 12.3 volts will be just what your battery is holding no sign of charging there should be a least 12.8-13.2v if you were getting any charge. Dont no why the dealers you have already looked at didnt pick up on that pretty simple stuff. You should of bought up to inverness would of picked that up first time. I will dig out the guys number who I get to recon stators and send it to you in the morning. Hope this helps
Cool !THE QUAD GOD ! Cool  ( dashboard thing a bit far fetched as power supplied through feed from key so key off no power going to dash.)
